WHO WE ARE
Underdogs of Philly is a Philadelphia-based grassroots nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of dogs living outdoors across the city. We believe that every dog deserves better — and that the most effective way to make that happen is by showing up for the people who care for them.
Our approach is simple: meet people where they are, without judgment. We build real relationships with dog owners in underserved communities, providing the tools, resources, and support they need to improve conditions for their dogs — one visit, one conversation, one family at a time.

WHAT WE DO
Shelter & Kennels
For dogs living outside, proper shelter isn't optional — it's life-saving. We provide doghouses, kennels, and weatherproofing materials to ensure outdoor dogs are protected from the elements year-round.
Monthly Outreach Visits
Every month, our team visits the approximately 30 dogs in our program to check in on their conditions, deliver flea and tick prevention, and continue building the owner relationships that drive real, lasting change. These visits are the heart of our work — they're how trust is built, and how lives get better.
Veterinary Care & Spay/Neuter
Quality vet care should be available to every dog. We provide spay/neuter services, wellness exams, vaccines, flea and tick prevention, and treatment for common illnesses and injuries — all at no cost to the owners we serve.
Food & Supply Delivery
We deliver dog food and essential pet care supplies directly to the families we serve — removing barriers and making it easier for owners to keep their dogs fed and healthy. Currently, we deliver around 15 bags of food each month to dogs in need across Philadelphia.
Owner Education & Support
Through one-on-one guidance, resources, and ongoing support, we help families understand and meet their dogs' needs. Our goal is progress, not perfection: incremental improvements in a dog's quality of life, sustained over time through relationship and trust.
